Executing a search for a Managing Director on behalf of a land, planning and regeneration business
A multi-facetted land, planning and regeneration specialist required Beaumont Bailey to execute a search for a Managing Director with a mixed-use land specialism. With more than 1,000 employees, the organisation operates across a number of markets including house building, commercial development, regeneration and logistics.
SEARCH BACKGROUND
Strategic Land and Major Projects is a specialised market. Land tends to be ‘regional’ and in most instances it is managed through head office or ‘group’. In order to navigate these two variables, the search had to cover the whole of the UK and be open to those willing to relocate.
REQUIREMENTS
The incumbent Board Director did not have a suitable successor within the organisation. The Director in question had been employed by the business for over 10 years and played an integral role. The successful candidate, and future successor, needed to have the gravitas in order to step up into the role, the depth of experience and knowledge to ensure a smooth transition and the strategic outlook in order to sit on the main board.
OUTCOMES
Beaumont Bailey successfully sourced a Managing Director, who has since been promoted to the Board as a Director.
