Finding a Regional MD for a leading UK house builder

A privately owned house builder, established over 35 years ago, required a Regional Managing Director. The business has three regional offices that collectively produce more than 750 design led family homes each year. They are highly regarded for delivering projects on time, on budget and to an exceptionally good quality.

SEARCH BACKGROUND

It was important to find a proven Managing Director with excellent leadership skills, the client did not necessarily require someone who had previously worked in the house building industry. Beaumont Bailey therefore expanded their search for talent across other sectors included but not limited to; Developing Registered Providers (DRPs), affordable housing contractors, commercial development and house building.

REQUIREMENTS

A Managing Director was required to turn around a failing regional office. The region had seen a high turnover of staff under the leadership of the previous Managing Director and were not delivering units on time or within budget. It was essential for the incoming Managing Director to make an immediate impact and instil a feeling of calm, confidence and bring order.

OUTCOMES

Beaumont Bailey successfully placed a Managing Director from the DRP world. The individual placed has progressed within the business, first to COO and now on to CEO.
