Beaumont Bailey are committed to promoting the importance of diverse leadership across our own business and the industry areas we serve.

Our view is that executive search firms have the potential to leverage their considerable influence at very senior levels to be a catalyst for significant cultural improvements; collaborating to create a collective voice can amplify this influence.

Our vision is to create a truly diverse and inclusive culture across our industry areas with the right talent to deliver the best possible results for our clients and to reflect the society we serve. We seek to be a genuine partner to our clients providing support and challenge around inclusive recruitment and people strategies.

We aim to help accelerate progress towards an inclusive culture across all levels as it is proven that such a culture supports more effective teamwork, gives wider perspectives, better investment decisions, better results for our clients and ultimately more sustainable businesses.

Driving D&I through our search process

Given the challenges that the business community faces with respect to diverse talent, we would encourage a predominantly ‘behavioural’ assessment criterion, rather than experience-based criterion set.

In line with the Hampton-Alexander Review, this removes a key barrier when trying to attract and assess systematically under-represented groups.

Our partnership with the Diversity Project

Through our partnership with the Diversity Project, we are aware of these challenges and are actively involved in initiatives championing a more inclusive culture, with an aspiration of achieving diversity across all dimensions, including gender, ethnicity, socio-economic background, LGBTQ+, age and disability.

Our work with the Women on Boards network

Beaumont Bailey also works closely with the Women on Boards network (consisting of over 30,000 UK members), collaborating on events, content and promoting senior level vacancies on behalf of our clients to connect them with the best female talent from across our sector areas.

Two key metrics to measure overall diversity

There are substantial challenges when reporting on diversity in searches due to the ‘sensitive data’ definitions within the GDPR. As part of our focus on driving diversity throughout searches, we include two key metrics to measure overall diversity in the talent pool.

Firstly, we use a ‘soft’ measure for gender diversity. This provides an approximate guide on the representation amongst the candidate pool.

Secondly, we use an independent survey which is optional for candidates to complete. The data from this process is anonymous to avoid bias entering the process.

Networks & Partnerships

At Beaumont Bailey, we have built a strong network of industry-leading partners who are championing positive change across our sectors. We’re proud to be an active contributor to these organisations, helping to drive inclusion and equality across the industry.
