HRD Summit Birmingham

In early February, my colleague James Pope and I boarded the train bound for a very windy and very cold Birmingham, to attend the annual HRD Summit UK. The event now in its 18th year, was themed “merging Human and Machine: The Role Technology will take in the Future of Work”.
Technology is a topic that will impact the whole talent landscape and one of great interest to Beaumont Bailey. There were 1000+ Senior HR leaders is attendance with the largest proportion of exhibitors being Tech and Data orientated.
The highlights for the day included the opportunity to listen to insights from the Microsoft team on how to engage and develop a diverse and inclusive workforce; and also how to get to grips with creating excellence and understanding in people analytics through our analytics partner SplashBi.
SplashBi, (who kindly invited us to the event) gave us the opportunity to see their AI data analytics platform in action. Their AI platform has been developed to assist organisations to make the very best business decisions by providing instant access to data in the form of live data reports, visualisations, & trends.
The common thread of the seminars that we attended were very much focused towards:
Diversity and Inclusion
- Awareness in the value of diverse teams and how businesses will increasingly leverage workforce analytics to tackle diversity and inclusion issues.
Development and Engagement
- How to succeed in developing an engaging narrative that creates trust and engagement with their workforce and attract new talent?
Digital and Data
- How learning to humanise workplaces will drive better business performance in the 4th industrial age?
- Addressing the gap in leadership capabilities, to driving performance improvements through HR analytics, to how to foster a culture of innovation?
A wonderfully insightful day with many great connections made throughout the day.
