Beaumont Bailey announces new charity partnership with Alike
Beaumont Bailey is delighted to announce its charity partner, Alike, for the next 12 months. Alike is a game-changing new charity, combating loneliness and isolation in people impacted by cancer.
The ground-breaking Alike app was launched in 2021, allowing the cancer community to connect in a space just for them.
Alike was founded by Brad Gudger, a two-time cancer survivor and former broadcaster, with the hope of creating a community for people with cancer. With 83% of young individuals with cancer experiencing loneliness during and after treatment, the Alike app allows a space for individuals with cancer to share, connect, or vent about their experiences.
Alike’s Founder, Brad Gudger, said: “After years of working with groups and charities, being inspired by the peer support I experienced, I wanted to find a way to use the technology around us to combat that loneliness. This digital network just didn’t exist, which seems extraordinary in an age when we’re all connected through our phones. The entire Alike community and I are thrilled to be working with Beaumont Bailey as a fundraising partner. Their meaningful support will really help us accelerate our mission to create and nurture an inclusive space where people impacted by cancer can connect.”
Over the course of the next 12 months, Beaumont Bailey will be undertaking a host of fundraising activities to raise funds and awareness for an incredibly worthwhile cause.
Beaumont Bailey’s Charity Partnership lead, Amanda Floyd, said: “We are excited to partner with Alike for the coming year. It is a fantastic opportunity to support a charity with such a clear and inspiring mission statement. We look forward to taking part in fundraising events and ultimately helping young people with cancer build friendships and a support network of people that are going through the same experience.”
